Анaдырь – where the day begins

Anadyr (Анaдырь) is the easternmost town in Russia, and thus in Eurasia, and only the extreme east of New Zealand and a few Pacific island states located further east. To get there you have to take the longest domestic flight in the world, and then you still have to cross the river. The time difference with Moscow is eight hours.
