Unos días muy agradables en Tenerife

It is a cliche, but Tenerife is a place of opposites. From hot beaches to freezing temperatures over 3700 m a s l near the summit of the volcano Teide, from lots of tourists at the beaches and also at Los Roques de García to hardly anyone just a few kilometres away, and from sunshine in Las Cañadas del Teide to clouds and rain on the northern slopes and in Puerto de la Cruz.

The surreal moonlandscapes in lava and sandstone in Las Cañadas del Teide, including of course the volcano itself, were definitely the highlight of the trip, but the contrast with the coast made it al the more interesting. And to be honest, swimming in the ocean in November is rather nice.
